Allaah has created his creation so as to worship Him and has prepared for them that which will aid them in this from His provisions. He ta'ala says


"And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). Verily, Allaah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong."[1]


The soul, if it is left upon its fitrah (natural state) affirms Allaah's divinity and has love for Allaah, worships Him alone, and does not ascribe partners to Him.

However the Shayaateen from the Jinn and the Ins (mankind) corrupts and deviates it from that with what they reveal to one another by way of beautification in speech and deceptions. Tawheed is centered in the fitrah. Shirk is foreign and inserted into it. Allaah ta'ala says:


"So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allaah Alone) Allaah's Fitrah (i.e. Allaah's Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq­ilaah (i.e. the Religion of Allaah Islamic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not" [2]


The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said "Every child born is born upon the fitrah, however his parents make him into a Jew or a Christian or a Pagan"[3] So the root of the children is Tawheed.


The religion was Islaam from the time of Aadam (alaihi salaam) and until those who came after him from his progeny for many generations.


Allaah ta'ala says:


"Mankind were one community and Allaah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings" [4]


The first occurrence of shirk and deviance upon the aqeedah was with the people of Nuh (alaihi salaam)


"Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad SAW) as We inspired Nuh (Noah) and the Prophets after him;" [5]


Ibnu Abbaas said "There was between Aadam and Nuh (alaihima salaam) ten generations, all of them upon Islaam"


Ibnul Qayyim said "This comment (of Ibnu Abbaas) is clearly correct for the reading of Abi ibn Ka'b of the verse "So they differed and then Allaah sent the Prophets"


Allaah's statement affirms this when He says


"Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion - Islaamic Monotheism), then they differed (later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed" [6]


The sending of the Prophets was due to the differing from that which they were upon from the correct religion. Just as the Arabs were upon the religion of Ibraaheem (alaihi salaam) until 'Amru bin Lahee al-Khazaa'ee surfaced and changed the religion of Ibraaheem. He erected idols in the land of the Arabs and in the land of al-Hijaaz in a specific manner until they were worshipped besides Allaah and shirk began to spread in the Holy lands and its surrounding it until Allaah sent His Prophet Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).



He called the people to Tawheed and to following the path of Ibraaheem and fought the true Jihaad until the creed of Tawheed and the path of Ibraaheem was returned to and the idols were destroyed. Allaah completed with him His religion and completed His favor upon all of the worlds. This methodology continued through out the noble generations from the beginning of this Ummah until ignorance began to spread in the later generations. Many (false) ideologies infiltrated it and shirk returned to many of this Ummah because of callers to misguidance and building structures over the graves in an effort to glorify the Awliyyaa' and Saaliheen (righteous individuals) claiming love for them until monuments were built over their graves.



They were taken as idols of worship besides Allaah by many ways this included du'a, seeking assistance, slaughtering, and sacrifice at their locations.

They called shirk Tawassul (means of drawing closer to Allaah thru worship) with the righteous and expression of their love for them and not worship of them as they claimed.

They have forgotten that this was the excuse of the pagans before them when they said,


""We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allaah" [7]


Even with this shirk falling upon the mankind past and present you found the majority of them believing in Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah but ascribing partners to Allaah in their worship as Allaah ta'ala says:


"And most of them believe not in Allaah except that they attribute partners unto Him"


They do not deny the existence of their Lord; only a small number of mankind did, such as Phir'awn, atheists, and the communists present in this era. Their denial is from their being blatantly arrogant. They are still compelled to testify this inside (their hearts) as Allaah says:


"And they belied them (those Ayah) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their own selves were convinced thereof" [8]


Their intellects know full well that every creation has to have a creator, every thing in existence has to have one who brought it into existence, and the order of this great disciplined and complicated matter has to have one who has power over it , wise, and maintains its order possessing all knowledge of it. Whoever denies these facts then he is either void of any intellect or blatantly arrogant and has limited his intellect and suppressed himself and this of course has not goal to it.

“Make your motto the fear of Allaah…”


“Here is the advice of a concerned friend, who sends it to you clothed and shaded in his desire to see good for you, and in the most eloquent and magical of words.”

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullah) says:

O you who seeks to save himself * Listen to the words of a loving advisor;
In all of your affairs, hold tightly to Revelation * And not to desirable hallucinations;
And give victory to the Book of Allah and the traditions *That came from the one sent with the Criterion;
And strike every denier with the sword of Revelation * Just like the Mujahid would strike over the fingertips;
And carry on with truthful zeal * The way of the sincere and brave who are dedicated to Allah;
And remain firm with patience under the banner of guidance * And if you are harmed in the process, it is for the Pleasure of the Merciful;
And make the Book of Allah and authentic traditions your weapons * And strengthen your soul;
Who will fight and present himself * Or compete on the battlefields?
Openly preach what the Messenger came with* And do not fear the lack of helpers;
And avoid two garments whose wearers* Will be censured and destroyed;
The garment of ignorance that comes with * The garment of partisanship – what terrible clothes!
And decorate yourself with fairness and justice * The best garment to beautify the chest and shoulders;
And make your motto the fear of Allah and advice of the Messenger
* And champion these two matters; And hold firmly to His rope and Revelation
* And depend on Him as He deserves…

Weakness of the Hadeeth: "My Ummah has 

been given 5 things in Ramadhaan"

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد



Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم is supposed to have said:

“My Ummah were given five things for Ramadhaan which were not given to anyone before them. For them:

1. The smell from the mouth of a fasting person is sweeter to Allaah than the fragrant smell of musk.

2. The Angels (in another narration it is: “The fish”) seek forgiveness for the fasting people until they break their fast.

3. Allaah prepares and decorates a special garden in Jannah everyday and then says (to it): {The time is near when faithful servants shall cast aside the great trials of the world and come to you.}

4. In this month (for them) evil-minded Shaytaan is chained so as not to reach unto those evils to which they normally reach during other months besides Ramadhaan.

5. On the last night of Ramadhaan they are forgiven.”

The Sahaabah رضي الله عنهما thereupon enquired: “O Messenger of Allaah! Is that last night Laylatul Qadr? The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “No. But it is only right that a servant should be given his reward on having completed his service.”

RULING ON THE HADEETH: “VERY WEAK”

1. Shaikh al-Albaanee in Dha`eef al-Targheeb wal-Tarheeb (586) said: “It is “Dha`eef Jiddan” (very weak).”

2. Shu`aib al-Arna’oot in his checking of Musnad Ahmad said: “It is “Dha`eef Jiddan” (very weak). Regarding Hishaam bin Abu Hishaam (one of its narrators), then there is consensus about him being weak. And Muhammad bin Muhammad bin al-Aswad (another narrator) is “Majhool al-Haal” (his status is unknown) and no one reported from him except this Hishaam and `Abdullaah bin `Aun.”

3. Shaikh Ahmad Shaakir said in his checking of Musnad Ahmad: “Its chain is “Dha`eef” (weak).”

4. Ibn Hajar al-`Asqalaanee said in al-Mataaalib al-`Aaliyah (1009): “Its chain is “Dha`eef” (weak).”

An Important Warning Regarding Fictional Story Writers and Their Fatwaas

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-’Uthaymeen (may Allaah have Mercy on him) reminds us that those who write fictional stories not based on real events are sinful and considered to be from what the Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) spoke about when he said (what means), “Woe to the one who speaks with lies to make the people laugh, woe to him, woe to him!” (Collected by Aboo Daawood)

Question: What is the ruling on acting in plays? And what is the ruling on writing fictional stories?
 
Response: Acting in plays is from the avenues of false talk that have been introduced to the Muslim lands. It is not permissible to take part in them nor to occupy oneself with them. In them are lies and contradictions to reality. The actors degrade respected personalities that they pretend to be. There is also in them an imitation of the disbelieving celebrities as well. There are a number of other dangers.
 
Some of the mashaayikh have written about this, may Allaah reward them well. They have written valuable books personifying their harms and warning from them, like what the virtuous Shaykh, Dr. Bakr Aboo Zayd wrote, and like what the virtuous Shaykh 'Abdus-Salaam ibn Burjis Aali 'Abdil-Kareem wrote, and like what the Shaykh Hamood at-Tuwayjiree wrote. So reveiw them and what is found in them regarding the benefits (of plays and fictional stories), since the real harms that result from them are many times more. And preventing harm takes a precedence over gaining benefit.

After having having finished reading some book, you see how they become independent. If one then points it out and says that the Shaykh has a different opinion, he says: He has his and I have mine. al-Albani: When one speaks with ignorant people, one doesn’t say that the Hadith is odd (shadh) or deficient (ma’lul) since they do not understand that. Instead say directly that it is weak. (Pg. 248)
” The problem with the youths of today is, as soon as they have learned something new, they think that they know everything.” (Pg. 861)

“The scholars in Azhar master the Arabic language, Qur’ân interpretations, traditional Fiqh and other things. However, they are as far away from the Sunnah as one can be. There are however some sincere people among them. If someone reminds them, they accept it.” ( Pg. 206)

Is it allowed for children to read and write fictional stories...?




Reading and writing fictional stories
 
Question: What is the ruling regarding reading or writing fictional stories and those which arouse the imagination? And if some of them [aid in] rectify[ing] social problems, then is this permissible?
 
Response: Fictional stories are from lies which occupy the time of the writer and the reader without benefit, so abandoning busying oneself with them is preferable. And if writing and reading [fictional stories] occupies oneself from that which is obligatory then this [fictional stories] is prohibited. And if it occupies oneself from that which is recommended then this [fictional stories] is disliked. In any case, the time of the Muslim is valuable, so it is not permissible to spend it in that which there is no benefit.

Writing fiction
The seventh question of Fatwa no. 6252
Q 7: Is it permissible for a person to write fiction stories, which are all lies, for children to read and learn from?
A: It is Haram (prohibited) for a person to write such false stories. The stories mentioned the Qur'an, the Sunnah and other factual stories suffice and serve as moral lessons.
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
